Zilker Holiday Art Contest Now Open for Submission
Austin Parks and Recreation is
holding a youth art contest for the Zilker Holiday Tree. The tree is a 155-foot
tree that will be lit on December 1. Young artists who are aged five to 10 can
enter their illustrations of the tree in the junior (ages 5-7) or senior (ages
8-10) categories. There will be three winners from each category, which will be
selected to illuminate the tree, which has over 3,300 lights. The contest is
also open to submissions by mail to the Austin Parks and Recreation Department
or online. The deadline for submissions is November 1 at 4:30 p.m. (by
mail/drop-off) or 11:59 p.m. (online). Make sure to keep this in mind. All
